At Mills River Presbyterian Church, we celebrate, support, and delight in the presence of our children and youth. They are not the future of the church—they are a vital part of who we are right now.
When we gather on Sundays, children begin worship with the whole congregation in the sanctuary. They are always welcome to remain in worship for the full service, and many families enjoy using our prayground—a cozy space in the back of the sanctuary equipped with books, quiet toys, and coloring pages to help children participate in their own way. After the opening portion of the service, children are also invited to continue their morning in Sunday School, where they explore faith through stories, crafts, conversation, and play. We offer a staffed Nursery for infants and toddlers throughout the service, ensuring a safe and loving environment for our youngest ones.
Beyond Sunday mornings, our children and youth enjoy a variety of activities—movie nights, arts and crafts, family hikes, service projects, and special gatherings throughout the year. These experiences nurture friendships, encourage curiosity, and create space for families to grow in faith together.
The safety and well-being of our children and youth are of utmost importance. All staff and volunteers who serve with young people complete background checks and follow our established guidelines.
