A Service of the Tenebrae. The word “tenebrae” is Latin for darkness or shadows. The Tenebrae service is an ancient tradition in Christian history that took place on one of the last three days of Holy Week. The purpose of this service is to remember the somber events that took place in Jesus’s life.
